My Favorite Mommy Tips

BLISS TV - Our Busy Lives with Little Movers from Blissful Media Group on Vimeo.

My little boy is 2 1/2 and is ALWAYS on the move. We actually made the switch to Huggies about 6 months ago. I started couponing, and Huggies has the best coupons available through the mail and online. Also, once in a while, Target will have store coupons that can I can stack. That makes for a great deal!
Couponing has become really helpful for our family. We are a two income family, but it's not always enough. It's nice that Huggies often has so many coupons available. It defintely helps lessen the cost of buying diapers.

In this video, some very cool Moms offered tips on how to manage mommyhood. I agree with all their comments. My number one tip that works for me, is a mommy time out. Sometimes, I will tell my BF that I'm taking a shower. It can be at night, in the morning or a random 2pm shower. But sometimes, it's the only way I can get 10 minutes to myself. Half the time, I can't even go to the bathroom without a toddler or a doggy following behind.
My second lifesaver is our playgroup. Since I work outside the home, we can't make alot of the events. But, I've made some great friends. We even have Mom's night out, Bunco night, or scrapbooking night. These nights give me a few hours a week or month where I can get away guilt free and enjoy the company of great friends.

How do you save your sanity? I'm always up for new tips to help me on this journey called Motherhood.

Glee!!!!!

I’ve recently caught on to the Glee craze. I always tell myself that I’m not going to get caught up in that kind of stuff. But I did.

For the past month or so, I’ve been a faithful viewer of Glee. I had seen a couple of episodes before, but never was hooked. I didn’t become hooked until I entered the world of mommy blogging. I didn’t realize that there was such a huge following of the show.
For awhile, I was trying to figure out what attracted me to the show. For some reason, the show makes me happy. After the season finale a couple of days ago, it hit me. As they were performing for the competition, I started to think about high school and how I was in choir.
We were a good choir, we received ones at our competitions. The four years I was in choir, I wanted to sing fun, pop songs. We never did. I think the only “pop” song we sang was Wing Beneath My Wings. We did do a lot of Latin songs and other very difficult songs. We even went to Washington D.C. and performed at all the major monuments.
Another reason the show appeals to me is that fact that although my school had show choir, I could never get enough courage to try out. I think I had a fear of dancing like they did in front of people.
Whatever the reasons are for me LOVING Glee, I know that I will continue to watch. Heck, I even downloaded over an hours worth of music from iTunes. My cd has not left my CD player in over a week!

Wordless Wednesday

Jack and his first big boy bike.

Monday, June 7, 2010

It’s Monday, the first day of what could be a crappy week. So far, it hasn’t been too bad. But it’s only 10:49am here.
Anyways, we had another busy weekend. We took our first trip of the season to our local farmer’s market. We didn’t get a ton of stuff. But we did get some fresh potatoes, strawberries, and fresh herb cheese bread. Yumm-O! Jack and I also spent Saturday afternoon until Sunday afternoon babysitting for my sister. My niece had her first dance recital and she did not want to take the two younger boys. It’s nice because her boys are around the same age as Jack. We only live 20 minutes away and it seems like they never see each other. Since Jack is an only child, I really want him to know his cousins.

I did manage to get ALL of my laundry done. I’ve been making piles and piles of things that were not urgent on the laundry list. We live in an apartment, so we pay to do our laundry. It’s kind of an agreement that if I watch my sister’s kids, I am free to bring my laundry to wash. That’s what I did. I think I only had 4 loads, but I left one at home. I feel so much lighter now that I have that big task completed. I even celebrated with some chocolate covered peanuts! LOL.

How was your weekend?
